FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Cram Session?
The Cram Session is a fast-paced, high-energy review of essential semester Algebra topics.
How do I register my student?
Just fill out the form under the Register tab, submit it, and be sure to let us know if your plans change and your student will not be able to attend. Our space is limited to 90 and we want to have every seat filled.
What is each student expected to bring with them to the Cram Session?
All needed materials will be provided. Just come ready to review and learn!
Where is the Cram Session being held?
The Cram Session will be held in the new College of Education building on the MSUB campus. See below for a map. Also visit our "More Info" page for a printer friendly map.
When is the Cram Session?
Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. on the event day. A complete event schedule is provided on this site under the Event Schedule tab.
Will three half-hour sessions provide enough time for review?
Probably not. The Cram Session is designed to supplement the review provided by each student’s classroom teacher. In case even that is not enough, we will send each student home with several review sets of problems for additional practice.
Will each student have a tutor who will be able to answer questions?
The Cram Session is not designed to provide tutoring. Due to the schedule, time for individual instruction will be limited. Each classroom will, however, be overstaffed to allow for some individual attention.
Who will be teaching the sessions?
These sessions will be taught by current MSUB math education students who are active members of the Math Education Group. Also note that event activities will be supervised by a MSUB faculty member, David Snow, who serves as the faculty advisor for the Math Education Group. Dr. Snow is also an experienced classroom teacher.
What will the parents do while the students are attending the sessions?
We need parents to be accessible by phone, and we encourage parents to stay on site. Parents are welcome to drop in and out of sessions and lounge areas will be made available. We will also provide information about college applications, financial aid, and academic support for parents who are beginning to consider next steps.
